Welcome to a seminar with Dr. Agnes Rwashana Semwanga from College of Computing and Information Sciences at Makerere University in Uganda.
Dr. Agnes Rwashana Semwanga (PhD in Computer Science, Makerere) is the Deputy Principal of the College of Computing and Information Sciences, Associate Professor in the Department of Information Systems, and co-investigator at the Health Informatics Research Group (HIRG) at Makerere University. She has wide experience in the pedagogy service delivery and has participated in the development of information systems and health informatics curricula. Agnes has undertaken health informatics research and developed qualitative models as well as simulation tools using systemic approaches to aid healthcare decision making particularly in immunization, maternal health care and neonatal healthcare. She has published in international journals as well as supervised several graduate projects in the areas of health Informatics. She has undertaken research with WHO Alliance of Health Systems on the application of Systems Thinking in neonatal healthcare in Uganda. Agnes jointly with the John Hopkins University, Bloomberg School of Public Health developed an online course titled ¿Systems thinking case study teaching materials¿ that is used for training public health practitioners.
