Trust in AI

Tid: 2020-01-30 kl 15:00

Evenemangstyp: Seminarium

In connection to a growing interest in artificial intelligence from a social science perspective there is a need to discuss a range of questions along the lines of how to design machine learning systems so as to operate in the context of human users. How are we to create systems that retain some sensitivity to the cognitive, communicational and organizational practices in which they are embedded? And also, in what ways could the scientific understanding of such processes and practices help inform the deployment of new systems?

Hybrid Intelligence in citizen science: developing a model to understand optimal human and algorithmic interactions in citizen science games

Tid: 2020-01-31 kl 10:00

Evenemangstyp: Seminarium

Citizen science serious games offer opportunities to investigate human problem solving and machine optimization in order to prepare for a future where we have optimal synergy between algorithmic and human problem-solving.

International Conference on Analyzing and advancing simulations for professional learning (SimPro2020)

Tid: 2020-04-01 kl 09:00

Evenemangstyp: Konferens

The conference brings together practice-oriented research on simulation-based training from three different domains: medicine, maritime navigation, and police education. In their talks, the conference keynotes discuss the theoretical underpinnings of professional learning in simulated environments, putting focus on embodied actions with different artefacts during simulation as well as the importance of language and social interaction for reflecting on simulation in post-simulation debriefings.

Föreläsare: Peter Dieckmann, psychologist and currently head of research at the Copenhagen Academy for Medical Education and Simulation (CAMES). Sissel Eikeland Husebø, professor at Department of Health Studies, University of Stavanger, Norway. Roger Säljö, senior professor of education and educational psychology at Department of Education, Communication and Learning, University of Gothenburg, Sweden.

Artificial Intelligence, Affective Computing and Games: Healthcare, Learning and Adaptive Interaction

Tid: 2020-05-11 kl 09:00

Evenemangstyp: Workshop

The application of games to technology, as manifested in computer (console) based, virtual environments and with physical robots, has provided a fruitful avenue for studying cognitive and emotional phenomena. It has also provided a means for facilitating and understanding about learning processes and clinical deficits within learning and decision making.
